At Oklahoma City Apartments, we understand the importance of education in
today's society. Parents want nothing more than to place their children in
schools where they know their children will be in good hands. Especially when
moving to a new area, parents want to make sure that there are appropriate
schools nearby. Researching specific needs and wants for their children's
education is the first step that any moving parent should take. A simple phone
call to the school's district will answer most of your questions, but not all.
Some cases may require a visit to a counselor who is more than willing to help a
parent find the right education and school for their kids. The internet is also
a very useful source for information regarding ANYTHING related to your child's
education. Here is a link to the Oklahoma City Public Schools website.

Mentoring & Tutoring
The Oklahoma City Public Schools Website encourages parents to
tutor/mentor students.
Oklahoma City Public Schools is committed to the success of all our
students but we can't do it alone. We need the help of our community.
Our mentoring and tutoring program is searching for individuals who want
to make a difference in a student's future. |
|
The difference in a student's success or failure can be a matter of only
one hour a week - if that hour is spent with a mentor/tutor. A student who
is faltering in school is more likely to get back on track if someone takes
an interest in them. Never underestimate the power of a little interest
shown by an adult in a young person's life.
If students know they have mentors/tutors taking time out of their day just
to spend with them, it helps to build self-confidence and self worth. It
also helps to excite the student about learning.
Our Mission:
To improve the educational attainment and self-esteem of every Oklahoma City
Public Schools student through a sound, consistent and measurable mentoring
program.
